Nightmare of coding

I love to dream and I always dreamt of building a wonderful website with cool designs. While dreaming of building a website of my fantasies, it never failed to give me nightmares (Mephisto) on the vast amount of coding required to accomplish it. And that worried me a lot! When I thought of self-learning to build websites, the time required to master the skills gave me a myocardial infarction. I agree with the fact that we should be patient to show remarkable dexterity in developing websites but I don’t want to invest much time in learning while my competitors leave me behind. At that stage, my only intention was to get out of the nightmare of coding but compete with my competitors. But how?

No-code platforms

After that, I surfed through the internet to find solutions for my problem. It was this time I introduced myself to the concept of no-code platforms for developing products. What are no-code platforms? As per my understandings, no-code platforms are a rescue to people suffering from coding. Technically, no-code platforms allow people to develop their dream websites by a technique called ‘drag-and-drop’ where they can pick their elements of interest and add them to the web page. As simple as it is!

Learning to use

Instead of pushing my accelerator to youtube for tutorials, I decided to jump directly into the platform to gain some hands-on experience. Before this step, I had to make a serious decision on which no-code platform I should use. I ended up on Wix! You can also prefer other platforms like Webflow or Squarespace but my choice would always be Wix. At first, I struggled a lot but it then became an advantage for me. How it became an advantage? Being faced with problems, I myself, came up with solutions that gave me a lot of exposure to the use of the platform.

Why I found the self-exploration method the best one? If I ended up with tutorials, I would have learned what I just wanted for a given situation. As I chose the self-exploration method, I traveled over all of the elements and chose the best one for a specific sitch. This is how I learned to use no-code platforms and you too can prefer my method.

Feeling Independent

This is an important aspect that boosted me in using no-code platforms. With the help of no-code platforms, I was able to implement my thoughts running on my mind. I neither have to depend on anyone to code the website nor invest so much time in learning. I just needed a computer and access to the internet and then Voila! I was able to come up with a beautiful responsive website in hours whereas, it takes several months to learn to code a basic not-so-good-looking website.

Building a product

When I came across the process of developing a product, I stunned at the whooping number of steps involved like website wireframing, UI/UX research, development, designing, deployment, and so on. But according to me, all these steps are not required to build a website on a no-code platform.

You may argue that these steps are essential for building any website but, I’m speaking from a beginner’s perspective. Developers follow the steps I mentioned above to reduce the number of revisions or revamps in case of mistakes while the revisions themselves will take a long time. On the other hand, revisions can be easily made on no-code platforms by simply dragging and dropping new elements or whatever we want to change.

I’m telling this as I had experience revamping a website. As an example, recently, I’ve revamped the whole design and functionalities of my website and it took only hours to do it. The product now looks like this (InsightBig School):

Web Elements and Templates

When I used no-code platforms, I had a feeling of having accessibility to a vast amount of web elements and components that are highly customizable to blend with the theme of the website. I didn’t have the necessity to customize an element repeatedly as I could save it to my designs and reuse it. The holy grail of no-code platforms are the pre-designed templates and the users have accessibility to a number of them with highly customizable features.

Job hypothesis

Recently, a hypothesis became much popular proposing that no-code platforms will vanish the job space for software developers and programmers. I believe it not to be true. The job space won’t get extinct but will be shifted to a new sector. Even though people can become their own developers using no-code platforms, there is a necessity for programmers to build and develop those so-called ‘no-code’ platforms.

In my experience, I could see many integrations between coders and no-code platforms i.e., we can hire developers via no-code platforms and seek their help in the further development of our website. So I think there is nothing to worry about job spaces for developers and programmers.

Final Thoughts!

With the help of no-code platforms, every people having an idea on their mind can become a developer of their own and can implement their dreams independently and feasibly. Having an online presence is a must in this generation and those who couldn't cope up with this policy can easily opt into no-code platforms. I firmly believe that no-code platforms will definitely become the next big thing and will help dreams come true!
